Sassa updates threshold from R350 to R624 -Fix Srd Grant now. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) says ” We increased the means test income threshold from R350 to R624 that is in line with the estimated Food Poverty Line for 2022 “

The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is meant for South African Citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders who are between the ages of 18 and 60 years, who have insufficient means, who do not receive social grants on behalf of herself/ himself or who are not contributing to or eligible for UIF payment, and have no financial support from any other source.

This new rule means that applicants who where declined because they were receive a income threshold of more than R350 can now Qualify for sassa Grant R350 but it Also means that the money you receive on your bank account shouldn’t exceed R624 if it does then you’ll be declined.

The means test income threshold has been increased from R350 to R624. However the payment amount remains R350 per person, for each month they qualify for.
